Freeholder Doug Cabana stated “The concept of Fair Housing Month is to increase public awareness of the fact that all Americans have a right to fair housing opportunities, and that some residents – even here in Morris County – do not have adequate housing for themselves and their families.”
The Human Relations Commission has a Fair Housing Committee that acts as an advocate and educator for fair housing. To this end, the Committee seeks to:
- Further the purpose of existing federal, state, and local fair housing laws and tenant/landlord rights and responsibilities.
- Develop, sponsor, and implement awareness, education, and training programs for the Morris County Community.
- Engage and mobilize Morris County social and economic organizations who provide housing services.
