Morris County Freeholders Cabana, Mastrangelo, Lyon and DeFillippo present HRC Past-President Charles Lam with a plaque designating April as Fair Housing Month.Past President Charles Lamb was on hand to accept a Morris County Freeholders proclamation of April as Fair Housing Month.

Freeholder Doug Cabana stated “The concept of Fair Housing Month is to increase public awareness of the fact that all Americans have a right to fair housing opportunities, and that some residents – even here in Morris County – do not have adequate housing for themselves and their families.”

The Human Relations Commission has a Fair Housing Committee that acts as an advocate and educator for fair housing. To this end, the Committee seeks to:

  • Further the purpose of existing federal, state, and local fair housing laws and tenant/landlord rights and responsibilities.
  • Develop, sponsor, and implement awareness, education, and training programs for the Morris County Community.
  • Engage and mobilize Morris County social and economic organizations who provide housing services.
